Hi All,

I just discovered BYC and am looking forward to a long and happy relationship. This is not my first experience with chickens but I am sure there is a lot of new info out there from which I can benefit.

We live in a small suburb of KC, Ks. We will only be keeping about 4 chickens but I am seriously looking forward to getting our chicks and getting started. My son is building a very utilitarian coop as we speak. It is a plan as you go coop, but has all the necessary equipment.
We are planning on Buff Orpingtons because of the good reviews they have gotten and they are said to winter well. Our winters can be pretty harsh.

So I guess that is all for now. Blessings Alice.
