Here's my wishlist - which hatchery?

I've been thinking - scary, I know - that my best bet may be to get an incubator and just get hatching eggs from breeders. I used to have an incubator several years ago but didn't have the best of luck with it. It was just one of the styrofoam ones without an egg turner, tray or fan. It was really expensive at the time, but I noticed the same ones with all the extras are not that badly priced.

Now I just have to figure out who to get eggs from.

I think the first breed I'm going to aim for is the Jersey Giants - hopefully blue! I will still get a few red stars or something for eggs. The cornish will probably have to wait even though I would love to butcher some chickens next fall for the freezer - I haven't really noticed anyone selling hatching eggs for those. I absolutely refuse to get the stinky, ugly, tasteless cornish x.

I definately plan on waiting until spring. I live in MN and today it was snowing so chicks are out of the question. I'm hoping to find some breeders and maybe get an order in early so I will be sure to get what I want. I'll have to read lots of info on hatching eggs to make sure I'm prepared.

Anybody breeding Jersey Giants or Cornish?

Might want to look up the name Duane Urch. His flock is where my cochins originated from. There's a thread about him on here, although I'm not sure what breeds/varieties he breeds. I might be wrong, but I believe he's in Minnesota.
