So this may seem like a silly question but I've heard a lot about heritage breeds and supposedly Rhode Island reds are supposed to be a heritage breed. But are all Rhode Island reds heritage? I got mine from a man who raises and incubates chickens as a hobby and I just wonder if they are heritage or not. Also, three of them are pure white and don't match the pictures at all. Could it be that I don't have what I think I have? Thanks for the help!

There are white rhode islands, most of what hatcheries sell I wouldn't consider as heritage. But if his birds were almost a black color (but its really a dark red) I'd say you got heritage.
