I have read about bronzes weights and they are all different. So if any has a mature bronze tom or has had one before. What does a heritage bronze tom weigh when he's mature?

Right now he's roosting about 25 feet up so maybe he'll keep his wings in shape flying up that high to roost everyday.

My bronze tom is a year old and weighs 16 pounds is this about right?

That is very light for a bronze of a year old. Are you sure he is not a eastern wild ??

Our Wishard Bronze birds live weight is from 25-30 lbs when they are 8 months old.

The Standard's weights for adult Bronze turkeys are 36 pounds for toms and 20 pounds for hens.

The standard weight for young toms is 25 pounds and for young hens is 16 pounds. Since, however, the Standard Bronze has not been selected for production attributes, including weight gain, for years, many birds may be smaller than the standard. Careful selection for good health, ability to mate naturally, and production attributes will return this variety to its former stature.

The average weight of Bronze Historical turkeys exhibited in mid-January at the Pennsylvania Farm show between 1932-42 were: toms 34 pounds and hens 19 pounds at the age of 12 months
