I've heard that the Heritage RIR do not lay real good.
How many eggs do you get from yours , say per week, per hen?

My son is moving to Montgomery. How far are you from there and can I take chickens on a plane? Those are some nice looking RIR's. How well do they lay? I don't even like RIR's, well i didin't til now.

I got eggs from Taters and I have never seen eggs packed so well. In fact, I feel that now I know how to do it! I think the PO could have played football with those eggs and none would have broken.

I love the chicks--already a nice deep red. They are also very musical, twittering and chirping.

I am hoping to get more as soon as I can start hatching again.

Taters--can I pre-order some or should I wait until I am ready?
