I have a duckling that pipped but did not come through the egg, it was struggling for two days and it seemed to have dry feathers stuck to the lining of the egg. I helped it out of the egg and it did not last very long. I give it five minutes. It looked like a herniated belly button. I'm not sure what caused it, or if it were going to survive. Also when it was pipping it did not make a sound, all of my ducklings have made noises and squeaking. It's whole bill was out of the egg too before I helped it and still no noises. Don't know if I were helping it but I had a feeling it would have died anyways in the egg. Here's a pic. All I want to know is what it is and how did it happen. Also why my duckling made no noise.
