Hi all. I had chickens 18 years ago when we had land. Now we live in town and I tried a few years ago to keep a couple ladies in my backyard but I wasn't happy with their run or their laying consistency so I rehomed them. I'm trying again now with a larger run and 4 birds. I have an Olive Egger (Laverne) who is the top chicken and can be a bit of a bully, an Araucana (Ruby Jean) who is second in line and a curious, sweet girl, a Lavender Orpington (Priscilla) also curious and a big fluffball and sweet little Lola who is a Blue Lace Red Wyandotte. She is definitely the bottom of the totem pole and that makes me sad. Laverne and Ruby are laying but Priscilla and Lola haven't started yet. I got them all as started pullets so I didn't have to deal with chicks but now I'm seeing that I bonded so much better with my girls when I got them as babies. We're all settling in and getting to know each other's personalities and routines. I love my girls. They are so good for my mental health.
