Hey everybody!
I just wanted to introduce myself. I live in California (Los Angeles area) and am so excited to have found this site.

I have a houseful of pets and a yard full of plants, and I love living things of all shapes and sizes

I had chickens when I was younger, but this is my first venture with my own flock. I have 15 chicken eggs and 2 quail eggs in my incubator right now (6 silkie bantam eggs and 9 mixed purebred bantam eggs)...my first hatching venture seems to be going well, chicks are due to hatch on August 7th and all but 2 are developing wonderfully!
I am interested to learn all that I can and hoping that I will eventually be able to swap eggs once my birds grow up.

I am looking for mille fleur and porcelain d'uccle eggs, maran eggs and frizzle eggs, so if anybody has some, let me know

Welcome banannas! I have marans eggs, only an hour drive east of you!!! You will absolutely LOVE this site, the longer you are here, the more you will learn about chickens, and chicken people!

What kind of marans do you have?

And what is the chicken in your avatar, it's beautiful!

The bird in my avatar is a mille fleur cochin rooster. Isn't he GORGEOUS???

I have very decent feather legged copper black marans, and some Blue/Black project clean legged marans of lesser quality. The bird in my avatar is a mille fleur cochin. I have a pen of those I'm working on and some lavender orpington project birds, barred olive egger project, mottled javas, and some motted bantam cochins in with a showgirl roo, if you really wanted to walk on the WILD side and work on making some mottled showgirls... LOL Right now what I have that is laying is the Copper Black Marans, blue laying EE's in with barred olive egger or CBM roos, the mille fleur F2 eggs, and the Show-Chin eggs.
The midget white turkeys, the lavender orps and the mottled javas and BBS silkies should be laying in the fall.
