I just signed on today, and just in time! I've loved birds (all kinds) all of my life, and this summer we finally bought our own little piece of land (yay!). I can now homestead and obsess over my birds a little more. I started with 3 buff brahma bantams, raised inside, they are still my favorites. I also have 3 white silkies, 3 black silkies, 5 lavender Orpington chickies, 5 Toulouse geese and 3 Cayuga ducks. My chickens free range (except the chicks) and all return to sleep in the barn at night. I have two roosters (so far), a big white silkie named Herr Doktor, who crows an awful lot, and my Buff Brahma roo, Bootsy, who sounds hilarious when he tries to crow.
I love bantams and look forward next year to some Seramas.
