Hey everyone! My name's Amy, and although I may live in Georgia, I grew up in Vermont. (Hey to all you Vermonters!) I look forward to reading, learning, and chatting with Y'all (Yes, I did pick up some southern lingo!) I'm the kinda person who likes to have ALL the information before making a decision, but I kinda got thrown into the chicken bizz when a friend handed me an egg to try to hatch.
About me: I'm long-winded, so I'll try to keep my posts concise. I'm also a terrible speller!
I am a homeschooling Mom of 3 kids: Jonathan, 9; Katey, 7; and Damien, 4. I have been married for 12 yrs. to a fantastic man who loves me endlessly, (Gordon), but who is now serving in Afghanistan and won't be back until next March. So I'm doing this on my own, but feel very confident I can handle it.
I also like to sew, do crafts, and I run the Children's Church program at my local church (if I'm not already busy enough!). I'm learning how to garden, make butter, and bake bread. And how to communicate via forum--this is my first one ever. Add raising chickens to the list.
So, if you were to tell me the most important thing you learnrd about raising chickens, what would it be?
