First post on here. I am in the process of buying my first home out in the country. I want to raise some chickens for the sole purpose of the eggs. From what i have heard for my soon to be wife and i , 2 hens will be a plenty.

Can anybody point me in the direction ill need to go for basic information on getting started (how to care for the chickens, keeping the coop clean, food, and general information!) Thanks

I have gathered from the BYC members that since chickens are social creatures that minimum 4 birds are best in case 1-2 happen to croos the big road in the sky

This way they have companionship if the unthinkable occurs. Also 4 are just as easy to care for as 2. It's a win-win
