It's been roughly 6-7 years since I last had chickens. I have gotten married and had kids since. We are finally at our permanent homestead location and starting back up this year with chicks! We ordered our first round of hatching eggs from Meyer Hatchery that should arrive later this week! So excited to get back into chickens! Will be working on our new coop shortly. Trying to decide between a couple designs!

I think so too! My oldest (2) is very interested in my horses currently, but I'm hoping the chickens will give him a slightly smaller animal to love helping with that doesn't give me a heart attack lol my horses are a tad too rough (herd of 4 that don't watch where their feet land) for him to help!

It would be impossible to not fall in love with the baby chicks as he watches them grow. It's such an amazing experience.
