i am new at this i have 15 golden commet hen chicks well i was wondering what the best chicks to get for egg laying i mean to raise to be eeg layers the ones i got are about a week or two old would this be a good time to get more and what type would you get i want something that will lots of eegs and to brood maybe so what you all think i am from ohio.

Leghorns lay very well but will not brood and are not friendly but they lay the white eggs that you buy from the store. I have heard that golden comets lay well. good luck!

I'm partial to BRs and BOs. They are good layers and broody. Comets should be good layers too, aren't they an off shoot of RIR?

yea they are a hybrid of them and i am going to look into getting some barred rocks or leghorns here soon the ones i got will be getting to big for the brooder i have them in i am into brwon eegs but i also like white eegs so what types you think is the best eeg producers of both broen and white eegs. i have 15 comets and my sis has two bantys i hope to get them out of this brooder i have them in now and build them into a big crate that was used to hual miterals for building scides i hope it will work
