Or you could herd them into a crate or dog carrier and carry them up the stairs in the carrier then let them out once you are outside...

We use a combination herd/hold method with our ducklings. Pick up one, and the other two will make a racket and follow. Gatta love using those flock instincts.

Just don’t herd them from top of the steps and they end up with injuries at the bottom.
