I ended up with 8...out of the 16... 6 still in the bator, I'll do eggtopies tomorrow. Weird how I can have 15 on day 18 but only hatch 8... one pipped and I should have intervened...

I know what you mean. I had 10 showgirls candle great on day 18 and hatched 3.

Had 4 wellsummers 2 candled good on day 18 and one hatched.

Hi Dar'! When that happens here, it's usually because I've messed up the humidity in the bator. My hens don't seem to have that problem.
Did the break-out show anything unusual?

The off-color ones are most likely from recessive genes hiding under the blue/black in the Am's (don't quote me on that because I don't know for sure --- just that they pop out once in a while). And you're right, that one will probably be a 'he'. Heavenly Springs hatched a couple of more silvery off-color ones that will prob be girls.

They are precious! I hope they all grow well for you.
