Thanks for the advice. I have 2 agressive roosters, and a cockerel.My best efforts to help a rooster make the decision NOT to attack the kids, wife and myself. When he bows up, fluffs up and stages mock attacks or real ones, stand your ground, hold him down gently, but with quick, decisive strength to he doesn't move or flop, take him by both back legs, hold him upside down, especially in front of the hens. Let him hang for a bit, he may flap, but not long. After under a minute gently let him down on the ground. He won't bother you much any more, you may have to do this 1-2 times. My rooster ( Welsummer ) is mellow yellow ever since. ( in his aggression towards me or my wife, kids )
You can duct tape their spurs? I gotta try that!Great method! Being gentle but firm is always the way to go. Also duct-taping his spurs can make him a little safer just in case.
