Hi everyone, I'm Hannah and I'm from England. I got my first chickens last year (a few ex-chicken farm ladies) they are Rhode Island Reds, and now I have 1 Pekin x Silkie Bantam hen, 2 Pekin x Silkie Bantam cockerels, a black Sussex (pretty sure that's what she is but I've forgotten ), 1 Vorwerk hen chick and 1 Porcelain Bantam Cockerel chick. They are all so sweet but I think my favourite is probably Cookie the Bantam hen.
My family did have chickens when I was younger which I always enjoyed, but now that I have my own I'm finding more things to enjoy and find irritating about them. For example we were given some chicks and most of them turned out to be cockerels and now we have a couple cockerels that we can't seem get rid of, the poor hens put up with so much
. I'm trying to avoid putting them in the pot but that may just have to happen for the sake of the hens.
I do have a few questions so I'm hoping I figure out where everything goes on here and not put it in the wrong place, sorry if I do.
Anyway, any and all advice is always welcome and I can't wait to meet some fellow people that have caught the "More-hens disease" as a friend called it!
