just really wanted to vent.. and also let you guys know of my recent experience with this company!!

13 months ago I purchased a cheap washing machine from Samsung.. cheap as in $399.00AUD.. so not by any means expensive. This machine has now broken down three times and required repair.

The third time it broke down (3 weeks ago) I called Samsung and they told me to get the repairer to look at the machine and then send through 3 job reports. I organised for the repairer to meet me at home during my lunch break and I took a long lunch from work...

they never showed up.....

Finally my washing machine got picked up by Samsung's contracted repairer 11 days ago...

after 7 days I thought I maybe should have heard something. So I rang the repairer. The receptionist said she was new and had no idea what was happening and that she would find out and call me back...

I never heard from her.

I rang Samsung... They told me they couldn't do anything until they got the job reports and they would follow the issue up and get back to me the next day.

I never heard from them..

So I rang them and expressed my unhappiness. They put me on hold, called the repairer and came back to me and said that the job reports would be sent through the next day, and I would receive a phone call by Friday (today) at the latest from the resolutions team...

I never received a call..

So....... I rang Samsung at 5:30pm this evening (Friday), 30 minutes before they closed to ask whether they had received the job reports. They told me no. By now... I tell them politely that the inconvenience is not worth the $399 I paid for the machine so I will simply purchase a new one of another brand and they can forget about repairing or replacing my machine.

I then called the repairer and spoke with the same receptionist who I had been dealing with the whole time. I asked her whether she knew if the job reports had been sent and she said no.. (by now I was seriously not surprised!).... Again she claimed that she was new and does not know what goes on with the repairs....

I told her that even if she was new, the service she had provided to me was poor. I had personally asked her to follow the issue up for me previously and she had not managed to do so, or even attempt to assist in any way. I explained that I expected more from the contracted repairer of a multinational global corporation and that I would be expressing my unhappiness in writing to Samsung.

Not long after I received an agressive and intimidating phone call from the owner of the repair company who accused me of lying (Why would I lie.. I just wanted my MACHINE FIXED!!!!). He swore at me numerous times during the conversation and although I held it together when I was on the phone to him, I was terribly upset when I hung up.

I rang Samsung to report what happened and burst into tears. I was home alone and considering this repair man knew where I lived, I actually felt very threatened.

Although the lady at Samsung did really all she could.. she did nothing. She said it was unacceptable and that I was in the right...

I told her that I just want a washing machine so I can clean my clothes. I don't care to wait any longer for another Samsung machine. I am happy to go out and buy a new one this weekend.

They are still insisting on these job reports from the repairer.. which they can follow up themselves. and they have put in a claim for $50 in laundry costs.

I never want another Samsung product in my life. and I don't want my washing machine back.

anyone else had similar experiences with a big company?

I'd be happy for you to give them a beating!!

thank goodness for my wonderful neighbours who let me use their machine!

I had to call a cell phone company once, and as they were putting me on hold (FOR THE 6th TIME ON THE 8th TIME WE CALLED, WE SPENT 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE, WE CHECKED THE COUNTER!) I heard the lady tell her coworker, 'crazy person on phone'.

lol whiteconfections!!!!... what sane human being isn't turning crazy after being on the phone for 3 hours and not getting anywhere!!!!! I'd have gone stark raving mad!!!!!

Yes. Sony got me.

Got a Sony Powershot digital camera as a gift. Didn't have the stupid thing for a year and it quit opening the shutter.
Called the company. They told me to send it in and they would contact me about how much it would cost to repair it. I needed to include my receipt for the purchase. told them it was a gift.
Sent the camera off.
4 days later got a call telling me that it would cost $112.00 to fix it.

Went in and got a money order and sent it in certified mail. Got home to another phone call telling me that it would only cost $76.00 to fix it.
What is going on?
Told them about the first phone call and got the run around.
Waited for 2 weeks. No camera.
Got a call from my post master to come in and pick up a package. It was my camera, unrepaired.

Called Sony back. No they had no idea of where my money order was and no they never received it.
Picked up my certified receipt and copy of my money order and told them the numbers and if I didn't get it back soon I would be facing them in court.
I had money order back within 2 days.

I know about those type of service personal who are nasty like that. Ran into one at NAPA.
Have a guy painting my car. I bought 2 gallons of paint. the clerk told the guy I took a can with me, which i didn't. When trying to deal with the clerk I called the painter and handed the clerk my cell phone. He listened for a couple of minutes then tossed my cell phone on his counter top and ignored me.
I reported the clerk and company to the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. Got a letter from the owner, but we never reach an agreement. Found out later the clerk was known for stealing paint from customers.

I got stung too or rather should I say I was taken big time. We purchased a 32 inch TV from Walmart. We had it 4 months and when I went to turn it on it wouldnt work. Of course this was on New Years day so calling a repair man was out of the question. The day after year news we called, and called and called. There was never an answer I tried to contact them on the internet but never received an answer back. Then I noticed a number to order parts so I called that number. Surprise surprise someone answered to see what I wanted to purchase. I went into detail about my problem and they said we would have to take it to a certain repair man When we gave them our zipcode he hesitataed and said weill you will have to fax us all the information about the TV and a copy of the purchase. We did that the same day it took 3 weeks for them to fianlly tell us who to take the TV to. We took the TV in (45 miles away). When we got to the repair shop the owner said You can leave the TV but I have not been able to get approval for any reairs from the company. He told us we were one of several people wanting TV's repaired.
We left the TV with him hoping for the approval, 2 months later the repair man called and said if we didnt come pick the TV up he would fix it himself and sell it as abandoned. We drove over and picked it up. Then I got mad I made a complaint to the Consumer Protection Agency against the company. They were able to contact them and they finally called us. They apologized for the problem and would sent a FedX pickup order for the TV and they would repair it free of charge and return it to us. Yeah We are still waiting for the TV It has been 2 years. I have made another complaint against them to the Consumer Protection Agency. I have the Fed X tracking number showing the TV arrived but they have no record of ever receiving it. The only recourse for us is to get an attorney. Its not worth the expense. I did write letters to Walmart, and the Corporate offices of Funai Corp but have never received an answer. Now I check who owns the comapny If Funai owns it I will not buy it. They sell alot of different products under alot of names so you have to be careful If you purchase anything from them DO NOT ATTEMPT to use the warranty it isnt worth anything at all.

I don't think warranties are worth the paper that they are written on in some cases...
