ChickeNelson
In the Brooder
We’re new to raising chickens but jumped in with both feet! We have 1 Lavender Orpington, 1 Americana, 2 Amberlinks, 2 Barnevelders, 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 3 Black Australorps, and 4 Rhode Island Reds! We got started because we want to have the teaching/learning experience with our young grandson and, of course, the eggs. So far the chicks are still in our garage brooder but we’ve converted our shed into a coop complete with a bachelor pad/half way house. We have several acres here in southwest Virginia so my husband is already thinking of ways to expand!
