My name is Katie. I purchased my first ducks in March of this year. It is a learning experience where I am asking lots of questions and learning something new everyday. I have 2 Rouens and 2 Pekins, 3 are male and I have one female rouen. Which she started laying eggs Wednesday. She is not broody and layed her first egg on the bank of the creek in our backyard. So my new daily questions are about eggs and whether they are fertilized or what not. So I can't wait for y'all to be able to answer the millions questions that I have.

Thank you!!

Hi Katie. :frow
Welcome to BYC!

We are so glad you joined our coop.
This video should help you find your way around the site.

I would think with 3 drakes and 1 hen, eggs should be fertile, and she's probably frantic to get away from drakes. Ducks prefer to breed on water, and they tend to gang up on one female it's not unusual for her to be drowned under either weight.

Please get more duck hens or only allow one drake loose with her.
