Hey everyone! I'm Leslie and am from WV! I'm 34 and we just bought our first chickens. I had some at my grandmother's when I was younger and always dreamed of having some! I want my kids (Havok is 4 and Daelyn is 15 months) to grow up learning where their food comes from

New to chickens, got 8 babies around 2-3 weeks ago
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 8!
(3) What breeds do you have?
4 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Starlight Olive Eggers, 1 Bovan Brown, and I'm not sure what the last one is
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Their curiosity
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a family nurse practitoner for a busy psychiatrist office. My hobbies include cooking/baking, doing silly things with my kiddos and husband, or just trying to relax
(6) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found out about BYC when I had a question about predators when making their coop then learned that this was full of useful information! I joined to further my knowledge about raising chickens
