Hey y'all. I'm Courtney! I'm from Middle Tennessee. My husband and I decided within the last few years we'd like to have and raise some farm animals on our property and decided to start with chickens! I just joined so I can learn more about chickens and receive advice when needed! Here is a little about me and our chickens 
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We got our first chickens in August 2021
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 33 chickens
(3) What breeds do you have?
We've aquired several different breeds. We love variety! We have Australorp (1), Brahma (3), Cochin/Brahma mix (1), Wyandotte (3), Barred Plymouth Rock (1), Olive Egger (2) Easter Egger (4), Naked Neck mix (1), Jersey Giant (1), Welsummer mix (1), Polish (2), Silkie (6), Satin (1), Showgirl (1), Mille Fleur D'Uccle (1) and Bantam Cochin (4)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? We love the fresh eggs and just the entertainment they bring to our backyard. They're so funny to watch!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Reading, photography, video games, cross-stitching
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I've been married to my husband, Caleb, for almost 6 years. I'm a stay at home mom to our little boy, Eli, who is 20 months old. We also have 3 cats and 3 dogs (miniature dachshund, redbone mix and great Pyrenees). We're planning to add goats to our little hobby farm this summer/fall
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I saw a friend post a link last night and wanted to join to follow her post among other reasons also!
