Mountains of North Carolina
My name is Tiffany. I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I am in the process of converting a very old salt shed into a chicken coop. I am going to be raising Black Australorps. I like to garden and just be outside in the country.

Oh, you are going to LOVE your Australorps! They were the first breed I started with and wow, are they docile, friendly, affectionate, great on the laying and quite hardy over all. My girls are HUGE lap sitters. Can't sit anywhere without a bird wanting on my lap!!

Good luck with your shed conversion. If you have any questions about anything along the way, feel free to ask. Welcome to our flock!!

Welcome to BYC, Tiffany. Glad you decided to join our flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and the best layers of the standard, brown egg laying breeds. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your BAs.
