What temperature are you trying to get to with the water wiggler thing? I'm using a baggie filled with water with a meat thermometer inserted into the bag. No wigglers that I could find in any stores at this time. TIA!

I'm assuming the temp inside my makeshift egg should be no higher than the temp of the incubator and maintain that temp for long periods without major temperature swings. That sum it up?

I have never used one - but I understand that you want the temp in the wiggler to be the correct temp - so I guess the outside thermometers would be higher or lower based on the wiggler temp

sounds right .

Right now my 'water wiggler' temp is 99.5 & my "outside temp" is 100.4 - I've used this method the last 2 hatches with excellent results. I have a Hovnabator 1602N w/a fan my husband added to it-also have an auto-turner in it. The "outside" temp does tend to be higher than the "water wiggler" temps for me. I do not have more than a degree or less fluctuation. I used a ziploc baggie before we finally found the 'water snakes' in the party favor aisle at Walmart. Hope this info helped you some.

Thanks, TerriLaChicks! That does make sense. At first I was thinking that the wiggler needed to match the highest temp but with temp fluctuations inside the bator, the wiggler reflects the median temp. Thanks a bunch!
