Thanks all!

The person I got the chick from gave it to us free if we could save it. it had a bad head injury from bullies in the brooder and couldn't feed itself. I fed it through a dropper but it sadly died. As first time chicken owners this left everyone shaken up a bit! My dad buried it in a tea box in the backyard.

looking up other people's experiences here I just feel so much more confident about how to prevent and look out for injuries and illnesses like that if they come up again.

Hello! New here!
I'll just go ahead and use this template...

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Yes! about 5 months ago. I had always wanted chickens so my family decided to get some and now everyone adores them.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
7! Started out with one and I just kept accumulating them from different people.

(3) What breeds do you have?
The first one is a white variant. Then an Australorp, a wyandotte, and 4 silkies. All are hens except for our precious paint silkie rooster, Spiderman.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I enjoy drawing! Watercolor and digital. (I really don't do it often enough though )

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My family has a big pomeranian and a tuxedo cat who is treated like a prince. we are currently renovating an old rabbit hutch for the silkies.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I suddenly became responsible for a sick chick and I remember frantically searching how to help it. I came across this site full of knowledgeable people and ended up spending a lot of time reading posts so I decided hey why not. After lurking for a long while I finally decided to make an introduction!
