Hey. New member here. I've raised four chickens since they were little "biddies" as we call them around here. They will be a year old next spring - two roosters and two hens - Edward "Big Specky", Charles "Lil Blackie", Butter, and Biscuit. My first chickens!
I had three other larger white hens given to me. Unfortunately, due in part to their fat and doughy nature, all three have fallen prey to critters at different times, as the four original chickens are much better at flying and getting away. The big white hens were my best egg layers and it sucks. I've reinforced my coop defenses as well as adding netting since this happened....
