Hi all, I'm new here, obviously.

I've got 16 hens and 5 chicks (sexes yet to be determined) and I've been keeping chickens for about 2 years. My flock is mixed, 5 are rehomers, so just common or garden red hens, I've also got 1 Coucou de Rennes, 1 Grise Cendrée du Poitou, 3 Marans, 2 cross Marans, 1 Sussex and 2 Azurs, who are currently raising my 5 chicks together.

Oh and we all live in France

Your intro caused me to do one of my favorite things -- learn a bit about breeds I'm unfamiliar with.

A quick Google search informed me that Azurs lay blue eggs (I have a Prairie Bluebell Egger for those) and that the Coucou de Rennes and Grise Cendrée du Poitou appear to be good laying, heritage breeds (two great attributes). So, thanks for helping me become better educated!

Like you, I have a couple of Marans (beautiful eggs) and a Sussex (who likes to keep an eye on anything and everything I do), among my flocks.

Welcome to BYC; I hope you enjoy being a part of this community!
