Hey, Hi and Hello to all! I'm new here, I've been keeping birds for a few years now. They really are gateway animals! I grew up as an Army Brat, so I never owned livestock growing up or many animals for that matter. I started out wanting about twenty chickens, then my father-in-law, a life long farmer raised about 75 up to pullets and gave them to me. So Instantly I feel like "Oh Help Me! This may become an addiction!"
My father-in-law is good at giving me thing I can never fully return to him in full value. Recently a piece of property thathas been in his family since the early 1900's has become a large focus of my attention, and an old business along with it. Fryman's Boat Dock; my husband and I have been working to update it. We have renovated an old tobacco barn on the property and in it added a bait shop and an Art Gallery. (both my husband and I are artist's).
So your work is never done right! We have our flock of chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, and ducks; and then our boer goats and black angus cattle. Then we have our Boat Dock, and then we still are trying to be artists and a large part of the community. So our next exciting thing is to put up a web site and start making events.
We love poultry swaps and living off the land. so we are working on a Farmers Market, Chicken Swap and Craft Fair out at our place. Should be Good! We Will See!
