(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am new to chickens as an adult, but we raised chickens as a child. A big difference, though!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Currently we have five 2 to 3 week old chicks.

(3) What breeds do you have?

We decided to get a variety! We have a cuckoo marans, california gray, brahma, mottled java, and we think a Wheaton Americauna.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I've been googling like mad the last 6 months, preparing for chicks, and this site always came up with the advice I needed.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Reading and hiking

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We have older children and have an older rescue boxer.
