I'm Ginger. I've had chickens for 18 years. Lost the last of my flock this past winter to a coon that worked its way in the run. I wasn't going to replace them but the hubster really misses having them. So four pullets will be here tomorrow. He's spent the last two days building a new coop and fixing the run. We're going out later to get food and stuff to make a waterer for them. They will free range the back yard during the day. I believe we're getting cinnamon queens, my sil is getting some and picking ours up for us also.

Welcome to BYC! Hopefully this time does the trick and your coop/run will be coon-proof now. I had a rough start to chicken keeping and I missed the crowing of the roosters most when I lost my first flock. It was pretty much like a phantom pain not getting rushed by the flock hoping for treats and the lack of their antics that had me starting back again. :frow
