Hi all,
First I want to say thank you all so much — this site has been a lifesaver already for me taking care of our new chicks! Here’s my intro:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yup, first time chick mom over here
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
10…one didn’t make it after falling ~6” when transferring her to a bigger brooder
(3) What breeds do you have?
6 Plymouth Rocks and 4 Rhode Island Reds!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Not sure I have one yet…it’s been pretty amazing to watch how quickly they grow!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I discovered you guys last week when I was frantically searching for seasoned advice on chick raising when I got the chicks home and realized I had all the equipment and no idea what a happy, healthy chick actually looked or acted like. This site was such an amazing resource! Hopefully once I get some more experience under my belt, I can help contribute too
