I’m a new (5 months now) chicken flock owner. We currently have 19 chickens of varying ages - ranging from 5 weeks to 2 years. We have a Blue Egger, 2 Olive Eggers, a Coronation Sussex, a Black Copper Marans, a couple of Salmon Faverolles, a Mille Fleur Barbu D’Uccle, a MF/Langshan Cross, a Welsummer, a couple of Cream Legbars, a Lakenvelder, a Sapphire Gem, a Production Red, an Ameraucana, and one each of Dark, Light, and Buff Brahma!
These girls keep us busy, but we love watching them and how they interact and especially love having them eat treats from our hands!
I love gardening and crafting, as well as genealogy.
We have one son still at home, five other children who are grown, and nine grandbabies! We share our 1883 house with our chickens and two Pyrenees-mix puppies, which we are currently working with to guard our chickens - sometimes this is easier than at other times! Ha!
I’m so glad to have found this group through random Google searches over the last few months, and I decided to join so I could receive more info as well as answer questions others may have, if I am able.
