In the Brooder
My name’s Christina, here’s a bit about me:
My chicken history
I’ve had chickens in the past, (about 5 years ago), unfortunately a predator got in and killed all 12 of them. Ive had a break from chickens till now, and I’m going to have 14 new little chicks this March.
I’m expecting:
5 austrolorps
2 buff Orphingtons
1 golden laced Wyandotte
1 silver laced Wyandotte
1 Delaware
1 Ancona
1 Austra White hybrid
1 speckled Sussex
1 Swedish flower hen
Family and friends and I have come up with these names for the 14:
-Avrelle,Amelia, Amarello, Deanna, and Java
-Ginger and Rosie
-Pechenka (means cookie in Russian)
-Minuet
-Anabelle
-Viollete
-Люся (Loose-ya, russian form of Lucy )
-Genevieve
-Anika
Hobbies:
Aside from chickens, I love cats, hiking, computer science, languages (I dabble a lot, I’m only conversational in Russian), and studying nutrition.
Life:
I’ve got two cats, Bella (she thinks she’s the fancy feast cat) and Licorice (she hunts and lives in my shed) both are about 9 and they’ve come to tolerate each other. They’re both outdoor and have chosen to live mostly on opposite sides of the house.
Currently I work as a mechanical/concept Drafter and work under an engineer who does green solutions for waste and converting plants into sustainable cleaner facilities...I love it.
I came across backyard chickens years ago, got the info I needed and carried on, now that I’m getting chickens again I want to be more involved and I’m happy to be on here.
