hi everyone!! new member from south western pa

I just purchased a home with acreage. I've been researching and reading up on raising chickens. I will be building a chicken coop this year and getting some egg-layers. fell in love with my friends little gold comets. any breeders close to me??? not too crazy about getting chicks shipped. would like to pick them up.
I'm a mommy to a chihuaha,3 cats, and some fire-bellied toads. hopefully some alpacas in the future.

I have had good luck with mypet chicken for ordering.

Plan for twice as many as you want and order half as many as you want because you will end up with more than you need and love them all

If there is a Tractor Supply near you try them for those Golden Comets, in a month or so. You could go in now and ask the manager when and if they will be getting them in. They will all be female chicks so not to worry about getting unwanted roosters, (Males are different color.) I have four of them in my flock, I gotta say, they really lay good, better than any other chickens I've owned.
