I agree with DobieLover about the first orders of business.
Most pre-fab coops aren't worth the money. If you're not handy enough to build your own coop. look for creative alternatives. I have modified old doghouses and, in emergencies, housed chickens in large dog kennels.
Someone at BackYard Chickens will nearly always know answers to any and all of your questions. But, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a book or two; call me a dinosaur, but I still find books useful.
Also, know there is nearly always more than one right way to do things, and that life wants to keep going -- some mistakes may be fatal, but most aren't. If you are giving your chickens the right feed, water and proper shelter, don't panic over the possibility that you might be doing something else wrong.
