I'm fairly new to the backyard chicken scene. I have 5 chickens: 3 RIR, 1 Golden Campine and 1 Cream Legbar. They have a nice yard and are protected and have a nice coop they can go in and out of. No roosters. They are allowed but out of respect for the neighbors we don't have one. The older RIR is fairly regular giving us an egg a day. The other two are still young and haven't started laying yet. The Golden Campine usually gives us an egg a day and the cream leg bar hasn't laid at all. The lady that we got her from says she laid regularly but we haven't seen one yet. We are being patient. I enjoy just watching them and a couple of them have gotten really friendly. Looking forward to having them around for a while and enjoying their antics.

Welcome to BYC! I'm so glad you could join us!

It sounds like you have a pretty flock. I'd love to see pictures.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Sounds like a great set up you have there. If you have just recently got your flock a move can sometimes disrupt their laying machine for a while until they have settled. I'm sure with time she will be laying soon.

Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Sounds like a lovely flock. The other hen should be laying soon; hens may take a while to get back to laying after a move. Glad you joined!

Anything that stresses hens can/will put them off laying until they feel secure again. Glad you joined the BYC flock.
