I have had my 6 barred rock ladies for about 6 months now and I’m loving it! Hoping to add a roo soon and hatch some babies to add to my sweet flock You all have been so kind and helpful in teaching me about raising chickens!

Will you use a broody or an incubator to hatch?

I’m actually not quite sure yet. I’ve looked up incubators to use and they had good reviews. Are there benefits of a broody over an incubator? Or vice versa?

Broodies are great but un reliable. Some will hatch egg but abandon the chicks.

It is a good idea to have an incubator as a backup and a brooder set up too.
