Hi everyone

My name is Evelyn and my husband David and sister have decided we are jumping into the chicken world. As of now we have 4 Turkens which we got a little over a week ago and today we invested in 6 pullet Black Link Sex. As of now we are going to stop at these and see how we do with them. If all goes well with these then next year we will probably increase the flock.

We started this because we got tired of buying eggs and wanted something better for us and this will give us something to do as the kids have basically moved on. We still have 1 son at the house but he works and has his life. We have a granddaughter under 1 and another one coming in August and we want her to know how to raise chickens for multiple purposes.

Every time I have searched something reguarding chickens, I always end up on this page and have gotten so much useful information and decided it’s time to join in.
