Hi everyone!

New to the forum, New to chickens. Wife and I just bought a new home in Temple, Ga. The property was foreclosed on two years ago and a rooster was left there. I think he is a Rhode Island Red but not for sure. He's nice so I've promised him a coop and pet status. I'm reading all I can right now. I'm sure I'll be asking advice as we go. He seems ok but should I catch him and get him to a vet just to be sure?

Hello, Rob, and welcome to BYC. Sadly most veterinarians know little about poultry. As long as your rooster is eating, drinking, and acting normal - stay away from the vet's office.

Hiii! Welcome. I'm new here too! I would get him to a vet, but then like I said I'm new and I bought a bunch of lights and heating pads and extra stuff but I would! I'd get him to the vet.
