Hello!

My name is Bonnie and I live in Southwestern Ontario.

I have only had chickens since this past summer. I was fortunate that my grandpa had 100 or so chickens maybe 10-15 years ago. After his birds slowly got cleaned out by coyotes, he just walked away from the coop. So with some hard work, I was able to get the chicken coop back up and running!

I have 7 chickens total. I’ve got a rooster named Albert, I got him under some peculiar circumstances and I am thinking he is a black sex link. I have 4 RSL hens, and the other day, just added two 5 week old Mosaics to my flock! Also just placed an order for 12 more hens this spring. Crazy how addicting they are, boy do I love my birds!

I have been reading forum posts on here since before I even got my chickens. I am excited to be a member of this community and post☺️ I have found lots of helpful tips so far.

Welcome Bonnie, I'm one of the New Chicks on the Block too. I don't have any chickens or quail. Waiting for arrival of laying agers end of March. I have no experience except being a people mom. Looking forward to being a Peeper Mom. Praying that there is no delay by Avian virus. But if so, I'd want healthy hens, I'd wait.
