Hello!
My name is Jess, I'm in Indiana (outside of Bloomington) and I'm a newbie chicken owner
I've been wanting chickens for years and just about six months ago we were able to get a little house with some land and now we've got a brooder with ten little chicks in it! We're working on finalizing the coop and runs for them so it'll all be ready when they're old enough
We're also setting up a nice big garden and we're hoping to become more and more self sustaining as time goes on.
I also have six rescued cats, and a rescued pitbull (who is the sweetest pup ever). I work for myself as a small-time silversmith, which I really enjoy, and live pretty simply by today's standards, which is just how I like it.
I've been lurking around these forums for about a week now and I really like the dynamic that I see between the people here, y'all seem so nice and knowledgeable!
