Hello I am new to this forum thing but it seems so fun! I drive all my neighbors crazy because I don't know how to talk about anything but critters. Everybody has kids (even me) but the critters are so much more fun to talk about, sorry kids! So HI everyone that I can talk critters with! Whoa, way to many exclamation points, I'll try to tone it down a bit.
I will introduce myself here
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have had chickens for about five years now, but I also have tried having Siberian huskies, not really a good mix, so I have had to start over way too many times.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Well if you had asked me a week ago it would have been 25, now I have 4. Thank you husky. I no longer have the offending husky so don't worry.
(3) What breeds do you have?
One big barred rock boy and two production reds and one brown leghorn
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
was looking for more info on Norwegian Jaerhons and you guys came up.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Fixing fences and producing our own food, veggies, meat, and soon to be dairy, here in northern Minnesota.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am recently divorced, ex couldn't hack to country life, so we split after 10 years o' marriage, sounds awful but it is really important to me that my kids get the full experience of where our food comes from etc.,etc.. I have been back in the country now for 4 years, found a great boyfriend and my kids (boy 10, boy 7, girl 4, and boy 2) are happy healthy and willing to help! We have 2 horses, both retired racehorses, one thoroughbred and one appendix QH, 2 Shetland ewes, the aforementioned chickens, 3 Siberian huskies (2 of which will be relocating), and a couple cats.
I am very happy to be a part of this community, thanks for having me!
