I have kept chickens for years. But have recently picked up a couple of frizzles and silkies and have eggs on the incubator. I may have a couple of frizzle with frizzle which I have heard is not good but they are on day 10 so I am going to see. So I am experimenting I guess. I want something different after all these years so I figured what the heck. I do love my chickens. Let Me see what I can get. Hopefully they are heathy. I guess I will find out soon if I should do it again or not. I am in Tallahassee Florida.

Hi and Welcome to BYC!

Frizzledness is a lethal gene meaning that if you mate two birds with that gene a percentage will die and others will turn out curly (feathers turn out brittle and break leaving many bare spots on the bird) Not many people know but lethal frizzle, most frizzledness in fact causes enlarged kidneys and spleens and some birds will have problems. But there are probably some lucky people who got good birds.

Anyways enjoy your new chicks when they hatch.
