I am new to backyard chickens. I have 3 different hens that are 7 weeks old. I would like to have an older layer or two to introduce to the girls. Anyone in the Chesapeake area have some for sale?

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Definitely check out the link provided by Michael. Good luck with your flock. I hope you can find the right hen. Be sure that you quarantine her once she comes home. (Here are two links on that https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/...often-underestimated-part-of-raising-chickens https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/quarantining-chickens-how-to-and-what-you-need-to-know) And then be sure you introduce them slowly and carefully. Start by having a barrier in between them so they can't reach other but can still see one another. After a couple weeks, let them mix. There will be some fighting because them have to establish the new pecking order. But hopefully it will all work out. Be sure they have lots of extra space, feeders, waterers and hideaways. Good luck!
