Hi Friends!!

Hi everybody!

My name is Briana and and I’m very excited to be apart of the Backyard Chickens group!

A little about myself: My dream is to become a farmer. I’m 23 and work at a pig barn which I’m highly allergic to apparently (yes, I’m allergic to my job. Swine dandruff to be exact!) I love animals more than I love life itself. If I could take home every animal in the world, I would. And anyone that knows me will tell you the same thing about me. I would love to have a homestead and I’m slowly on my way!! I’ve got 2 horses, a very loud hound, and about 4/5 weeks ago I welcomed 3 Pekin Ducklings and 8 Golden Laced Wyandotte chicks. First time ever raising poultry and I would like to give them the best life I can. In need some some tips, tricks, advice and any fun facts you all have to offer!! I live in central Minnesota, so the weather can be a little outrageous sometimes (below freezing to extremely hot and humid) So I’ll need a little extra help on the weather situations. I’m currently building a chicken coop that is basically a shed, 8 feet by 8 feet enclosed, shingles roof and windows of course! When I say advice, I mean ANY advice! I’ll takr it :) And I apologize in advance for all the questions I’m about to have for you all, but thank you SO MUCH!!!

There are many of us from Central Minnesota (aka the banana belt)..
