Just wanted to say hello to everyone.

I've been lurking since I got my first order of chicks (and one lone duckling!) from Ideal back in February. Although, these little ones weren't my first chickens. Just my first day old mail order babies. I've had chickens my whole life, though.

My now 8 week olds are: 1 Buff Orp. pullet, 1 Barred Rock pullet, 1 Salmon Faverolle pullet, 1 Delaware pullet, 5 Americauna pullets, and 3 Turken roos that were thrown in for warmth. Plus my Crested Pekin duck.

I also have 3 mixed bantam pullets, 1 mixed bantam pullet, 1 white Silkie roo, 2 Barred Rock roos, a Muscovy duck and a huge white Leghorn roo.

Other than my chickens and ducks, I have 1 pygmy goat and 4 pygmy mix goats. My grandparents just surprised me 2 days ago with a 12 week old Nubian cross kid. He's already rotten. 3 outside dogs and 10, yes, 10 inside dogs. Plus some feral kitties and 6 spoiled house kitties.

I've got my hands full plus I now take care of my grandparents chickens next door as they're no longer able. They have 6 gorgeous and docile silkies, 3 laying hens (game/barred rock cross.. very good in production but very tempermental!) and 5 bantam mixes.

Whew, think that's everyone.

Oh, and as for me, I'm Meredith. I'm 20, very into going green, live in my own home which I'm proud of and most of my friends think I'm crazy

I'd rather buy stuff for my creatures than expensive clothes

Meredith.

I am still a newbie also. If you have been lurking, then you know that there are lots of very experienced and knowledgable people here that can help you. Very good place for information.

I may not be able to help, being a newbie myself, but nice to meet you and glad that you are here.

Dorothy
