Hi!
I am not new to chickens, I grew up with them, but I am new to being the sole responsible party for them. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to what my parents had to do besides feeding them an gathering eggs when I was younger.
I live in a rural suburb, 1/2 acre. My first little flock has 1 australorp, 1 silkie, 5 Dominique's, 7 red stars, and one mystery chick that I am pretty sure is a Cochin. My favorite and most gentle so far is my australorp- Baggins. They are all pretty young still, 6 weeks old for the australorp and silkie and 4 weeks old for the rest ( I got them on Earth day, which I thought was cool).
I will post pictures of my coop, which we are finishing today, soon.
I love this website!!
So glad to join the chicken lovers!
