my wife wanted chickens. i love animals in general so i was not opposed at all. we have a perfect place for them, a nice large fenced, separated area on the side of our house that we were sure they would be very happy in. we picked up a nice sized coop, built locally with all repurposed materials. i just wanted to use that as a starting point to build on to. after some additions and reinforcing we are very happy with it. we did a ton of research before bringing our ladies home and are very happy with the two we got. our kids love them and we all are looking forward to a long happy healthy relationship with our new friends. i did quite a bit of reading here and i will say it a great website. im glad we found it. i look forward to contributing as soon as i can find a way to do so, im pretty green when it comes to chickens, but im looking forward to learning.
