Hi All,
Just thought i'd introduce myself as I've been stalking the boards for a while now. I'm Alicia and I live in Qld, Australia. My little family (just me, hubby and our little son aged 2) have decided to get some chickens and so I (yes you read right!) have been building a chicken run/coop in the backyard for the past few weeks/months. I've based my design off a design I found on here and have just changed a few little things to account for the fact that I have NO building experience at all.
If you'd like to check out my progress, I've been blogging:

I've got to update this tomorrow as I've done a fair bit more now! In very exciting news, our little chicks (day/week olds, unsexed) are ready to be collected tomorrow!!! Am still toying up what I'm going to use for my brooder in the meantime - I have this massive brooder but honestly, I think it's just as effective/easy to use a cardboard box (and a heat lamp of course). We are getting 8 chicks - 4 x gold laced wyandottes and 4 x plymouth rocks (dark barred).
I've checked out a few Aussie poultry forums but keep coming back here as it is just fabulous!
Hope to see you around and I'll be sure to post some pics of our new additions!
