The cats are always curious about the chickens... But they have never actually touched them.
2 days ago I let the chickens out to free range for a while. They all followed each other around (as they do) and the cats followed as well. They did their llittle stalking act (crouched low, ears back, wiggling their bums, almost like a squat for a chicken really, LOL! thats funny I never realised cats and chickens were so similar
)as if they were going to jump on them but never did.
The chickens pretty much ignore them. I think the chickens and the cats realise that the chickens are way too big for them to catch...
Good luck with your new addition, I don't think you will have any problems between your kitty and your chickens.
My second cat was abandoned, (along with 1 of his brothers) by his mum down the side of our house when he was only a few days old. I couldn't stand the thought of the pound putting them down so I hand raised them and gave his brother away when they were old enough..
